How to Create Curves With an A-line Skirt

How to Create Curves With an A-line Skirt

While an a-line skirt or dress can be very forgiving, hiding bumps and bulges you may not want to flaunt, it also will hide those luscious curves you are proud to show. When dressing, there are things we can do to highlight our best features while downplaying our less-than-perfect attributes. Try a few of these tips when wearing an a-line skirt.

Step
1

Choose a skirt or dress with a bias cut. The lines of the seams will draw the eye in a circular motion, giving the impression of smooth curves.

Step
2

Wear a belt. Choose a thin belt if you are wearing a straight, a-line dress and you do not have too much extra weight around the middle. A wider belt works best for women with thicker waists. The belt will accentuate the top and bottom curves of your body.

Step
3

Choose a snug top showing as much cleavage as you dare for the occasion. Curves showing on top add to the overall effect of a curvaceous figure.

Step
4

Keep the line of the skirt narrow and closer to your legs rather than billowing out so that you look like a big bell. A subtle a-line skirt provides the coverage you seek while allowing you to remain stylish.

Step
5

Look for a skirt that hugs your lower back. Curves are also seen from the back. Too often women don't check themselves in the mirror for the look from the rear. Accentuating the small of your back with a flat line adds to the curviness of the skirt.
